Marco Casagrande
ARCHITECT
Marco Casagrande is a Finnish architect, environmental artist, social theorist, writer and professor of architecture.
He is the Vice-President of the International Society of Biourbanism and principal of the independent cross-disciplinary research center ‘Ruin Academy’ in Taipei, Taitung and Artena in cooperation with the Aalto University’s Sustainable Global Technologies Center. Since 2017 has taught as professor at the Bergen School of Architecture and formed WEAK! with Hsieh Ying-Chun and Roan Ching-Yueh.
In collaboration with Sherryl Muriente and artist Béju, Marco Casagrande has designed the CityZen Garden park as part of West Palm Beach’s Art in Public Places program, which requires developers seeking permission to build in West Palm Beach to either donate to a public art fund or build public art on their site. The park has been build in 2018 and is located at the corner of Datura Street and Dixie Highway.
